Hi! I am Emmanuel Sugutt. I am a SWE currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, and I have a big passion for physics, Math and computers. I'm gonna say,it took a while to write this because how do you describe yourself when words arent enough?
Facts out first, I identify as a 22yr old man, studying Computer Science (Failed to qualify for a mechatronics degree) and well it hasn't turned out too bad for me. I developed a lot of interests apart from it along the way.
To be very brief, I was always into math and physics and was always fascinated by the idea of space, engineering and rocket science. I'm always fascinated by human ingenuity; I would wake up 6am as a kid just to watch discovery channel about the cosmos, how things are made and was always intrigued by how humans somehow learned how to do that? It's incredible. Maybe I'm just a nerd. But I think Porsches are cool. So are rockets. Humans built all that.
So yeah, I got introduced to the concept of computers when I was 5, my father helped me set up my first yahoo mail on his Toshiba desktop then and that was the beginning of my lore. It was during the COVID period that I stumbled upon and discovered Machine learning and AI, the concept that machines could learn and act on their own really intrigued me and since I couldn't make a robot that cooks for me, why not an AI that improves my efficiency?
Of course, I was not as driven when it came to getting indulged in AI-related learning as I am now, but I gradually began building an interest in the so-called AI-related field. I started out campus with trying everything I could get my hands on, from web development to mobile development, to game development, to even trying to build a robot and to taking long breaks to try to find out if I was really into tech, the noise was too much. I was all over the place and I was not sure what I wanted to do. I was not sure if I was even good at it. But they say, 'If you are not sure try everything'. So I did.
This process has taught me that progress is not about moving in a straight line. It's about experimenting, questioning, and persisting through uncertainty until you find your groove. I may not have all the answers, but I'm more confident than ever that I'm on the right path—and that's a great feeling. Ciao.
